'Superman' Cam: Off-season Predictions

Last Tuesday, the Carolina Panthers placed Cam ‘Superman’ Newton on the IR ending the rest of his 2019-2020 campaign. Rumors have swirled that this will be Newtons’ last season in Carolina, and they’ll look to move him during the off-season. Kyle Allen has done enough this season to certify himself as the new face of the Panthers for the foreseeable future.
Here are three optimal landing spots ‘Superman’ for the upcoming off-season:
Chicago Bears:
Mitchell Trubisky has proven nothing. Despite being selected to the pro-bowl last season (VERY QUESTIONABLY) Trubisky has looked far from a former #1 overall pick. All that draft capital they gave up getting him, after only 12 career collegiate starts was NOT WORTH IT! This season, he has the lowest yards/pass attempt in the league at 5.6 and throws for the second least number of passing yards/game next to Ryan Fitzpatrick of the Miami Dolphins. He simply isn’t a good passer. He has weapons upon weapons around him, and the best defense in the league on the other side of the field and still finds a way to lose football games. Newton will come in and be an instant upgrade.
Denver Broncos:
With only a few more years left for the Broncos defenses’ prime, they must find a quarterback to take advantage. For years GM John Elway has drafted bust, after bust and signed fill-in quarterbacks for big money. It hasn’t worked since he acquired the GREAT Payton Manning in 2012. Newton can come in and provide an immensely better offense after the departure of Manning in 2015. Lindsey and Newton will make for a dangerous running attack and will have the best-receiving options he’s had in his career, debatably. Denver needs to take advantage of its historical defense and win now, and the acquisition of ‘Superman’ should do just that.
Tennesse Titans:
The Titans are finally accepting that Marcus Mariota was a failed quarterback experiment. They are opting to make that known when they benched him for former Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill. While Tannehill hasn’t looked awful in his first few starts with his new team, it's nothing spectacular. If they were able to acquire Newton this off-season, they could finally see why they drafted Corey Davis and could make Derek Henry’s already impressive start to career even stronger. It could be a deadly three-headed monster.
Sleeper Pick: Pittsburgh Steelers:
The future of the Steelers quarterback position is unknown. Will ‘Big Ben’ retire? Will he stay for another run? Is Pittsburgh comfortable with Mason Rudolph as the future of the team? Many questions surrounding a very talented roster. We know they want to compete after they trade their first-round pick to the Dolphins for Minkah Fitzpatrick this season even after starting 0-3. If Rothlisberger retires, there is no doubt in my mind that going for Newton is there best option.
